Fresh from the Senate campaign trails in New Hampshire, North Carolina and Iowa, Sen. John McCain is turning his attention to his fellow Arizona Republicans seeking statewide offices in Tuesday’s election.
McCain, R-Ariz., on Thursday told The Arizona Republic that he has recorded a radio ad endorsing GOP Attorney General Mark Brnovich, who is battling Democrat Felecia Rotellini in the race to replace Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne, who lost in this year’s Republican primary.
“I’ve always supported him,” McCain said of Brnovich. “I’ve known him for a long time. I just did a little ad for him.”
During the Republican attorney general primary, McCain refused to endorse the incumbent Horne, who has been dogged by scandals. He told reporters in the summer, “I don’t believe that he should be elected.”
