Today, former Arizona Attorney General Bob Corbin endorsed Mark Brnovich for Attorney General in the November General Election. Bob Corbin is Arizona’s longest serving Attorney General.
In his endorsement, Corbin remarked:
“As a former Attorney General who served Arizona for 12 years, I know what the job requires. Mark Brnovich is well prepared and highly qualified to serve as Arizona’s next Attorney General. The law is the law and order must be enforced regardless of party affiliation or personal belief. Mark understands this and will serve with the conviction and professionalism our state so desperately needs.”
Bob Corbin served as Arizona Attorney General from 1979 to 1991, the longest serving Attorney General in state history. Corbin was one of the most popular state attorney generals in Arizona history and was widely respected as one of the best law enforcement officials in the country.
While Attorney General, Corbin launched an investigation against Republican Governor Evan Mecham, a member of his own party. Mecham was later impeached and removed from office for obstruction of justice.
“I am often asked which former Attorney General I admire most. Bob Corbin’s integrity and honesty as Arizona’s top law enforcement official was unimpeachable,” said Mark Brnovich. “He never put partisan politics above the rule of law and he vigorously defended our state laws. I am grateful for his support and will value his counsel.”
